FIRST STREET SOUTH WEST - CALGARY's CULTURAL SPINE

JMBFrom Rouleauville to Chinatown, the CPR grounds, housing, the hotels, the depots, the downtown, the exchange and offices, it seems 1st Street SW crosses the passing of time from river to river in this place with clear water - Calgary.

Elsewhere with Steve, I had surmised the value of global networks to urban design in that they cross all land uses. With all of them - be it railways or rivers, a complete elevation drawing cuts as neatly through the city as a vivisection. And here, on 1st Street SW, it seems so with time.
We all "got into the zone" - this time Ihor, Hans, Steve and me - and here we have texture, architecture, perspectives in a medley we will decipher when time - ah, time - permits.
